by John Quinn
John Quinn is a man of the people, literally, a creation risen from the social slime that society has been spewing for centuries, John formed as an Omega to humanity’s Alpha. He is quite completely, the man. When his abusive father allows him, he also designs the artwork for Kasper Rosa.

Popular Wank!
There will always be differing tastes, people not liking one band or another is fine, sometimes some music just doesn’t make you feel anything and most of us learn to be expertly discerning in order to not go near certain bands based on very little evidence. But for such a hugely dynamic band such as Kasper Rosa I think this approach is wrong, and to write them off with poorly judged comparisons is too hasty and narrow minded, they can’t be taken on one gig or one song. The range of influences they have is too numerous to mention. You undermine their efforts by saying they’ve moulded themselves around a certain local act.
I love ASIWYFA. I love Kasper. At no point have I got the two even remotely confused. Go ahead and hate, just try to learn why you hate them.
Down with moving on stage! Down with having fun! How dare Kasper Rosa ‘dance’. I prefer seeing bands who remain completely stationary to reflect their dynamic sound scape. Once more without feeling lads. Come on.
Jesus fuck! Ryan (McCormick) ‘dared’ to ‘close his eyes’ whilst playing guitar, it is not like he needs to concentrate or anything. I’ve seen them sound check a few times, all they ever talk about is how much they’re going to jump about, emulate ASIWYFA and flick their cool hair about. They’re all good friends of mine and I can tell you that they are using the band to set the trend in the greasy, unkempt, hasn’t-been-washed-for-two-weeks look, ‘how contrived!’
They do not care about music.
Steve (Butler) only becomes a hermit in his room all day to perfect his technical skills, write riffs, allow the most delightfully bizarre and eclectic mix of music to fall into his massively open mind to impress girls and live the rock and roll dream. The (frankly marvellous) riffs that he writes sound nothing like ASIWYFA, or maybe they do in the sense that I look like Eddie Murphy because I have a face. But if you make that comparison you forfeit your argument entirely cause you can’t effectively criticize something you clearly haven’t listened to. So it leaves me with only one explanation really, and I’ll agree with the above (ED: said on Fastfude), that you’re cynical jealous bastards. Your opinion is your privilege but your reasoning is completely unsound.
…but I suppose you’ve maybe got a point. If you listen to their latest EP backwards it sounds exactly like ‘The Letters EP’, with an added spirit voice from beyond croaking ‘Jesus wept!’.
Terrifying.
Fuck Kasper Rosa. Music is dead.
